Gage engineers were pleased to provide MEP/FP design services as partners of Legat Architects, for the Erie HealthReach Waukegan Health Center. Gage also provided expertise and support for the LEED certification process, resulting in the first LEED certified facility for the Erie Family Health network, and the City of Waukegan.

Some key sustainability factors were involved with this project, which was an adaptive reuse renovation of an old bank building. During the LEED certification process, points were earned for high-density urban development close to public transportation. The renovation increased the building’s operational efficiency. It added energy-efficient windows, low-flow plumbing fixtures, roof & wall insulation, and improved mechanical systems.

This was the second project for Gage with ConopCo Project Management, and one of multiple Gage projects involving Skender Construction as GC.
